Autumn Days / by Sarah

Happy Halloween to all.  As the calendar turns the page to November tomorrow I am savoring in what a gorgeous fall we are having.   Perhaps I was too caught up in house renovations last year, but the colors seem to be particularly vivid this year, and I love that my little toddler points out all the oranges, reds and yellows she sees as the trees turn.  Last weekend we made a trip out to Lookout Farm for some apple picking, pumpkin festivities and farm animal viewing (of which there were NO horses, as my toddler likes to keep reminding me.  My fault for promising something I thought would be there.)  Even though most of the tress had been harvested we still go to see apples in the orchard and pumpkins in the field.  I think it is so important for children to understand at an early age that our food doesn't just show up, all night and shiny at the Whole Foods.  Now she says, remember mommy, our apples came from the farm...where there were no horses...
